Romance, clean, seriesThis is another book in the Billionaire Marriage Broker series. Each book is a stand-alone book. Harper and Isaac's story was complicated by myriad factors, one of which was Isaac's adopted son. The earlier books dealt quite a bit with communication between the marriage partners, and schedules, dates, etc. This one less complex that way, and things were more unplanned, but happened as a series of events related to the Baseball team. I love baseball, so it was a win for me in that part of the story. Their few scenes where they communicated well (the pillow talk) were actually very touching. Just connections, and obviously building like for each other. The miscommunications that caused some stress in their marriage pact, were important to both of them. Watching them build a relationship based on trust of each other, and learning to respect the wisdom and combined knowledge base that they both had, while learning to compromise, made for a fun read. Their 'fall' with the obvious attraction they both had for each other was fun to read. Always enjoy the books in this series!

The Athletic Groom Billionaire Marriage Brokers Book 7 edition by Lucy McConnell Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I had just finished a couple of murder mysteries and wanted something fun and lighthearted. This was the perfect story. I liked each of the characters and their background stories. None were whiney or obnoxious with the dialogue believable and natural. Very enjoyable and left me with a smile on my face.
I have read five books in the series and discovered that what I read with the first one was not a fluke. Lucy McConnell delivers comedy, thrills and romantic SIZZLE every time. The characters are realistic and still manage to keep their clothes on while working through the tangles of life that enrich relationships. I am looking forward to reading more of the series.
I really enjoyed the other side of the Billionaire Marriage Broker stories. Why couldn't a guy be a mail order groom? This was fun not only with the marriage twists but with the baseball story. I'm not really into baseball so was a bit worried but it was a great story. I love this series. Great job on keeping the books stand alone. I'm sure if I read them in order a few things would make more sense but they are great all on their own.
I am a huge fan of the BMB romances and have been waiting impatiently for a new book to release. The Athletic Groom just made me want more! I loved the romance and the depth of the story. It's obvious the author did her research and that only added to the story. Highly recommended.
Great story, great characters. Needs some more editing (I caught two incidents at least where the wrong name was used (Seth instead of Isaac was one I think), and some copyediting stuff (like using towards instead of toward). Again, love the story, but it needs some tlc at the proofreading level.
This is the second in the series where a wealthy woman needs a groom. Harper has inherited a troubled baseball team and agrees to the 1-year business marriage contract with Isaac to have a manager to turn the team around. The problem is she doesn’t want him to change anything because she wants to leave things the way her dad left them. Harper and Isaac both must learn to trust each other. Their relationship is full of ups and downs. Sweet moments are followed by miscommunication which drives them apart. In spite of their trouble they seem to navigate dealing with Isaac’s adopted teenage son, Logan, well. Harper’s mom is quite the grandmother and is a fun character. Passion and love grow, but the romance stays clean and sweet.
A fun, clean read! Thanks, Lucy! Another winner. Believable characters plus MLB in St. George! (Well, why not?). The H (Isaac) maintains his integrity in spite of a rough childhood, bad 1st marriage, and losing a job even after doing the right thing. Admired his determination to make things better for his son (the terrible "traditions" of neglect and abuse end only with strength and sacrifice by someone determined not to pass the behavior along). The h (Harper) was sweet, admirable, and determined to do the right thing in spite of fears. Story shows that having everything financially is not necessarily a protection from self doubt and fear. Courage is required to do the right thing regardless of one's bank account. Loved the development of H and h's trust in themselves and each other. Excited to find a continuation of the story in a newly (3/2017) released novella.
